Guided tour of the ancient city of Andria, loyal to Emperor Frederick II.
The tour will begin at the Cathedral of the Assumption with its Crypt, an ancient paleochristian church, inside which lie the remains of Emperor Frederick II of Swabia's wives, Yolanda of Brienne and Isabella of England.
We will continue with the Church of Sant'Agostino, built by the Teutonic Knights under the auspices of Frederick II of Swabia, featuring a remarkable portal carved in stone.
Finally, we will visit Largo Grotte Sant’Andrea, where the first inhabited nucleus of the city arose, and the ancient Porta Sant’Andrea dating back to 1230, which bears the famous inscription commissioned by the emperor upon his return from the Sixth Crusade.
