uided tour on a little train that will allow participants to appreciate the main attractions of the capital of Apulia, delving into the local culture and traditions.
The little train guides you through the discovery of the authentic Bari, characterized by narrow streets, breathtaking views, and culinary delights such as savory and sweet taralli, homemade pasta, the famous "sgagliozze," and much more.
Our licensed guide aboard the little train will lead the students on a lively artistic and folkloric journey that will touch upon the Basilica of San Nicola, one of the most significant examples of Apulian Romanesque architecture, and will continue through the alleys of "Bari Vecchia" amid characteristic views, scents, and colors.
The tour will continue to the Cathedral of S. Sabino, which preserves important archaeological finds such as the remains of a Roman-age civil building, the early Christian basilica with three aisles, and the Byzantine chapel. Following that, we'll explore the "Stradina delle Orecchiette" to discover the art of making homemade pasta, particularly orecchiette. Then, we'll see the Swabian Castle from the outside, a symbol of Bari and a fortification defending the city's main entrance. Next, we'll stroll along the Bari waterfront, offering a beautiful panorama that embraces much of the "new" city. We'll also take the "Tour of the Squares," including Piazza Ferrarese, a prime gateway to the old town, characterized by narrow streets, bars, and nightlife, and Piazza Mercantile, an ancient urban space for merchants' activities since medieval times. Finally, we'll enjoy a live show with street artists, offering engaging entertainment to the rhythm of typical songs and rather original sounds.
